Tralee is about to welcome the 50th Rose of Tralee Festival (http://www.roseoftralee.ie) when 50 young women will compete for the title. This year for the first time, there will be 50 Rosebuds (an initiative of Toby World) – enthusiastic girls who will no doubt have a great time! There is always a large crowd of children around the official Roses, collecting autographs and many of the little girls dream of taking part one day. The boys can dream of being escorts!
There will be lots of entertainment, including a special greyhound race meeting – The Big T Party – at the Kingdom Greyhound Stadium on Sunday 23rd August from 2.30pm. It’s a family afternoon, with a Toby World grand prix, bouncy castle, children’s fashion show, face painting and Best Dressed Lady competition sponsored by Debenhams. Day tickets ( 2.30 to 7 pm) are €10. I will be there, promoting the Kerry Businesswomen’s Network!
